Design to Development Handoffs
Clunky communication between design and development ruins productivity. Startups are forced to work at a crazy pace just to stay afloat. Working on:
- New designs
- New features
- New screens
- Whatever they can do to keep users coming back
It can feel like an uphill climb regardless of how well your design and development teams work together.
Separated and dysfunctional internal processes slow growth
If you have separated teams with no chemistry or established process to relay much needed communication you will have plenty of headaches that could be avoided. We are big believers in internal processes based on:
- Open communication
- Productive hand-offs between different people and groups
Both sides need to know they are getting work done right before moving on.
Smooth hand-offs between groups makes a strong company
How smooth or difficult those hand-offs are has a huge impact on the general organization. If a startup consists of smooth productive hand-offs they are likely growing and improving their product quickly. Depending on your organization and the hand-offs happening between design and development you might be scratching your head wondering what the problem is. Find ways to improve the hand-offs and smooth out the way design and development communicate and then watch your production speeds take off.
